Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Who is the next likely to go in next LR round ? H1Bs or remote workers?

Specifically asking for Engineers …

Who is likely to let go in next round of LRs?

Remote workers who can not come to office or H1B people based on new policy changes

The way things work legally, once people are on the job, they are judged equally whether they are citizens or H1B visas.

However, I have noticed some managers do have bias but this is not legal or official Cisco policy. Cisco layoff lists get reviewed by lawyers so any bias gets curtailed but likely not completely eliminated.

With respect for remote workers, yes from my experience, they do get laid off first. It is less impact on employee morale when you no longer see someone that you normslly do not see. I have seen people move to remote work get laid of a year or two after doing so.
