Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Do other companies have toxic individuals to this extent?

At JPMC people talk behind others people back, gossip, gaslight, berate a novice for asking questions then huff and puff about being bothered if asked. I'm sure that it happens at Wells Fargo, Citi, MS, Goldman, TD, but I am in shocked at the scale that it happens here. I'm been here only 2 weeks. The only positive thing I have seen here is people talking back to people who are like that. The worse I've seen which is subjective to me is asking them what have they done in the last 10 years outside of work after loving to work 10 hour days. They can't name anything except drinking.

Since I'm new, how do I navigate this when keeping my head low is not working? They are coming up to me to see if I am part of the fraternity or like they say in the streets "size me up".

Wells Fargo is heading this way. It started when Charlie Scharf was named CEO and started bringing in a lot of New Yorkers into various management roles.

It's the corporate world and all corporations have toxic individuals to "this extent". Others less and others even more. You can't escape it. If you luck out and find another job with a better work environment, "Run Fast From Chase".

Worked there for 12 years. The culture has gone so downhill. And it starts from Jamie Dimon and goes downward. It used to be a great place to work. It doesn't get better.

Ignore them. Take care of yourself and start looking. Move on when you find something. There is hardly anything you can do to improve the situation.

Are these people old? If they are, report them to HR. They dont own the work environment.

Get out. I worked there. Exact same thing. They hire people who have never worked barely anywhere else with a bachelor's degree that can't make that type of money elsewhere and it creates a Lord of the Flies environment. Worst place I ever worked hands down. And I was once a janitor. Left JPM as Director.
