Many layoffs occurred in the US today. Employees were giving 1 week notice, 2 months max of severance and 1 month COBRA. Merry Christmas.

I was told by my manager there's a hiring freeze in our area - the US. People are leaving in my area, but no one has been hired in over 6 months.
Actually in sections of US divisions there is healthy hiring and growth. For example - Platform X which was used in the Artemis mission - Now after the successful mission there is huge demand and this piece of technology is the future.
Which areas had layoffs?
Laid off for Christmas. I rather be laid off before then I won't spend a lot on gifts. If your laid off in January 2023 you already spent it and have no money to pay your credit card off
