Thread regarding Chevron Phillips Chemical layoffs

Do the right thing, before you end up on the street with the people you just laid off.

It’s time for our illustrious CEO, Ste Ve Pru Sak, to actually lead. He’s losing his biggest asset – the people who keep this place running – and he doesn’t even see it. When you lose the experience and talent that make your company function, you’re sc--wed.

The town hall was an absolute disaster. You put your CIO, with an accounting degree from Stephen F. Austin, in charge of a billion-dollar tech group and front and center at the meeting? That’s embarrassing. Then there’s your SVP of HR with a University of Phoenix degree, and a GM of supply chain who’s never run supply chain before. These people aren’t qualified, yet they’re making decisions that drag the company down.

Meanwhile, the folks doing the actual work – the ones generating revenue – are getting laid off because of leadership’s bad decisions. Optics matter, and right now the optics are terrible. Employees don’t trust leadership at all.

Ste Ve, if your team su-ks, you replace your OC and DC – that’s how it works in football and in business. You’re smart enough to know this. Pay for real experts, bring in leadership that knows what they’re doing, and stop cutting the people who keep this company alive. Otherwise, the “parents” (shareholders, board, whoever’s really in charge) won’t keep you around much longer.

Do the right thing, before you end up on the street with the people you just laid off.

@OP you still don't get it. They are setting CPChem up to be acquired at rock bottom price. Their positions have already been guaranteed if Chevron purchases. They don't care, so stop acting like it's the same old CPChem.

@OP Everyone knows the GM supply chain ONLY cares about himself, thinks you're nothing unless you kiss his behind or you have engineering background, such a petulant man child. Seen him too many times in meetings with other BUs like finance or with consultants and clearly didn't know what his team was doing. Never cared to know what troops on front line actually do and make things run. Yet horribly impersonates a leader during town halls! Not to mention, before the travel bans, he annually racked up more international miles for extremely expensive & unnecessary trips than anyone! Not counting super bowls, Master's or hunting or fishing jaunts he attended & yet bragged or stupidly posted on SM to make himself look important. Anything rather than being in office leading & connecting with people. A continuous foreign concept with LT's pretending to be leaders. Bottom line, Ste Pru is extremely WEAK, could NEVER carry previous CEO's water! Allowed parents to bully him into destroying culture by not looking for alternative solutions to cuts, resulting in handling layoffs in worst possible way, allows rampant age discrimination, while spewing DEI mantras! Should be proud, for companies first ever layoffs...you did it alright! You didn't eliminate "laggers", or DEI hires, but labeled real leaders, LT members, change agents and people who made a difference across business units as "surplus"! As noted above...everyone knows this but leadership. Bad leadership has a profoundly detrimental impact on the business environment, you created a toxic culture that stifles innovation, erodes employee morale, and undermines organizational performance. You not only harmed individual employees but also weakens company ability to compete and thrive. Hope you're proud, that's one thing the ELT and minions succeeded in doing!

@OP it’s sad most everyone knows this but leadership here. Look at the full team. Incompetence all the way around. Ol Senior Vp of manufacturing once said “ we ain’t broke we just spend money faster than we can make it”

I remember the team I watched the video with said what did he say? How stupid?
