Leads should be invited to the Leadership Meeting (Oct 8)

My Director mentioned that there’s a leadership meeting on October 8th same day as the October Employee Meeting. Only Directors and above are included in the leadership meeting.

This is unfair to the Lead level. Leads are Leaders without direct reports (people management responsibilities), which is a testament that Leads and Directors have the same pay band including target bonus. As such, Lead should be invited to the Leadership Meeting.

Humble request to extend the invitation to all the Leads.

@ak this is incorrect, director business positions in the analyst world are higher multipliers.

Leads are 0.2, directors and 0.3.

@OP same pay band doesn’t mean you’re at the same sides of the band. Also pay band has nothing to do with job duties & responsibilities.

Risk leads, project leads, hrbp leads and their directors have the same pay bands. Yet our jobs, training, qualifications, ACCESS TO INFORMATION, are all different.

The fact you’re even asking sort of proves why you’re not invited.

The fact you’re asking has a lot of wondering how you’re even a Lead. Yes I agree - great lead giveaway.

Why are you complaining on a layoff site about not being invited to a management meeting that is above your pay grade and bragging about your bonus level? The immaturity displayed here is so telling.

Probably a 'play the messenger' meeting. Small pay bump to deal with a lot more nonsense

After the great lead give away from 2021-2024, I’d have to say no dawg. Let the bosses go advocate passionately on our behalf- so when they are having to sell it to us they know they’ve tried. If they have to do that in front of their directs inhibits their ability to truly advocate and then turn around and have to support it.

Your great lead give away is showing.

You hit the nail on the head- you don’t have direct reports - which is a very key difference. The fact that you don’t understand that- is why you’re not invited.

I thought director bonus percentage was 30% and leads were 20%?

Leads do not need to be there, get reports. Agree raise at the office

@a9 leads and directors on the business side have the same bonus modifiers, only IT is different. That said leads aren’t generally brought into those sessions because these are the sessions where they coach directors on whatever the company line is for whatever they are about to say.

You're not missing much, if anything. The leadership meeting is typically held right before the employee meeting and covers the same topics that will be shared in the employee meeting. It's limited to people leaders as its purpose is to give them space to process the information and ask questions, allowing them to better field any questions from their direct reports. As a lead you don't have that responsibility.

Source: currently a lead with prior experience as a people leader.

Why would you place a humble request on a layoff site. Raise this issue directly at the office
