Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Managing Partner Missed Opportunity

Edward Jones missed their opportunity to name a managing partner that could have led us into the future without all of the Enterprise Reimagined turmoil. Edward Jones' Canadian president, DG, was the correct choice to lead the firm, not Penny. DG actually has a spine and would have stood up for the values that built this firm instead of surrounding himself with people who would tell him only what he wanted to hear. Hopefully, when Penny ages out of the managing partner role (it is going to be a long three years) Edward Jones will come to their senses and choose the right David to bring this mistake to an end and choose DG not DC. However, I feel the writing is already on the wall for the next managing partner.

DG from Canada would be the best choice to replace the trainwreck we currently have. He may be able to turn it around. Penny has already ended the firm as we knew it for one hundred years. However, Penny's group of KJ, DC, KC, SM would be the end of the firm.

@g9 Everyone is praying that out of what have been floated as the top contenders (DC, KJ, etc.) that it will be DG. Any of the others will be the death spiral.

DG is one of the best leaders I’ve ever worked for - decent, challenges you, and very forward thinking. PP lacks everything he has - integrity, ethics, and a heart.
And to the field and home office individuals who have supported our current MP with their superficial, righteous feelings should be ashamed of themselves. No matter woman or man - never value someone whose only agenda is her own legacy in business circles but not in the halls of the Manchester building. You - FA, BOAs, and home office associate are just as artificial in your beliefs as she is.

I do not know who else was in the running, but the current managing partner was obviously the wrong choice. I remember sitting in the Manchester auditorium for John Bachmann's memorial service. There were many tears with plenty of Kleenex. If there are tears for the sixth managing partner I am afraid they will be tears of joy.
