Told to be in office 8-5 all day.. high expectations to be in office all day with low expectations of actually seeing an executive… happens every time!!!

I thought only Indian managers went gaga over their so called 'leaders' visiting.
Well following up: we waited with anticipation of meeting the high and mighty but was told that they ran out of time and had to leave!! So we were told to come in the office 8-5 and be ready to meet executives at 1:00 only to find out that they hit the door running… bull sh-t on Dell!
@c7 Yeah it was the same way when I worked in retail. Every time someone from the corporate level visited management lost their sh-t. I couldn't have been more unbothered then and I am 100% unbothered now.

Do YOU know who every single person in your org is? If the answer is no, then there is absolutely no way an exec would know if you are under them if you passed them in the hallways.
lol an executive wouldn't have any clue who is under their org. The only people they'd "know" are directors and above. Do you really tyhink an executive knows who YOU are lol? Absolutely not.
I would love to be there when they see all the empty seats and they ask "where is everyone?" Just so I can say, "You layed off more than half the team so they're either working for our competition, or at home filling bout online job applications for one of our competitors."

They were here in Cork - Managers running around like headless chickens. We were expected to be at our desks all the time, that they would "shadow" TSEs - saw them for about 5 minutes on the floor.
