The last day before Christmas bonus cutoff. Will there be layoffs?

The company is finding different ways to terminate employees. Post on this site along with Reddit, people are getting fired for charged off accounts, filing too many disputes or fraud claims in bank, along with insurance claims.
And the year before they did layoffs in oct and just paid out the Christmas bonuses. Doubt it’s THAT much of a factor. Anyways they’ve shift to terminating people for cause and we aren’t hearing anything about it. teams are getting thinned out - with zero backfills - it’s a strategy.
- calendar days
@gx Sept 30 + 60 business days=payroll cutoff for the Christmas bonus.
Who said 9/30 is the cutoff holiday bonus?? Last year it was Nov 29 for Dec 5 pay
Bank will definitely have another round of layoffs and if I had to guess, by end of October, as the 60 days would end right at or near 12/31.
Dunno but we got a cool single curved monitor today.
Best part is that it is technically SMALLER than the two that it replaced.
Progress!!!!
Layoffs are definitely coming... we have an HR dude running Deposit & Credit Card Shared Services.... the top management cares A LOT about skilled workers but why are they keeping irrelevant, unskilled executive in Bank??? cmon now
Who is JT? USAA needs to get rid of several leaders in Credit Card and Deposit Products. Way top heavy, by the time they realized it they started putting very experienced people on PIPs and when I read some of them it was very LOL.
As per JT layoffs are coming
Inside office leaks (normal EAs / strategy staff / gossiping HRBP etc. ) all say there is another round of layoffs coming - this one sounds more targeted on low performers- no one seems to be locked in on dates.
My understanding is that there’s been a shift to terminate for cause for violations of any employee handbook related issues. People getting fired for reporting fraud too many times, having a negative checking balance, auto insurance claims without clear evidence have been reported on here, Facebook, X.
Mid October
Unfortunately with USAA, nothing is for certain. Last year the bank had layoffs until mid October, my old director received his notice on 10/17 and his last day was mid December.
What layoffs?! I'm in PI and we haven't had any layoffs since March 2023, what are you talking about?
We've already been hit with the first round of layoffs in Platform Infrastructure under CTXO. Morale has taken a serious hit, and unfortunately, it’s not over yet. Another round is expected next month. The uncertainty is weighing heavily on everyone.
