I found a mediocre job at a not-so-stellar company. The pay and benefits are about the same, definitely not an upgrade. But at least they seem stable for now, and I just couldn’t deal with this cr-p here any longer. After a 25-year career, I’ve ended up in a place where I have to take whatever I can find just to get by. Sc--w this economy.

@n7 is there really such a list? that’s insane
You could’ve asked your manager to put you on the severance list! Lordy
@e9 the “leadership” team at FIS does NOT care about line workers. Granted that no job is guaranteed, but when you have VPs tell their managers that employees should not feel comfortable, why in the world would you stay working for this type of company?
@fa I've always told my co-workers do what you have to do and dont worry about me. They up and quit I'll be happy for them, not upset that they moved on.
Hopefully you’re at least going to provide notice for the sake of your colleagues.
@e9 unless you can put yourself in their position you have no idea if it's greener for them or not.
Companies do better when the employees want to be part of the team. And vs. It's doing nobody any good if they are unhappy.
The grass is ALWAYS greener.
Why on earth would you do that, restructuring and redundancies are a sad part of most businesses, if you’ve walked into a similarly paid job without a problem, all because you’re worried about being let go, why would you not see what happens, you may weather the storm and continue your career at FIS or get a pay off. The grass is not always greener.
Best of luck - it’s not just about the pay - sometimes a fresh start is really positive for your mental health - new challenges and new people to interact with can provide a huge boost, especially if you’ve became fed up with your current situation.
