I can't afford to just up and quit in this economy, but I've started mass-applying for positions at various other companies that will truthfully probably pay better than what I make at HCSC anyways.
This RIF has been the catalyst I needed to get the f--k out of here.
i worked on a hybrid testing/business team and we had 3 people leave at the beginning of the year and none of them were replaced despite our giant workload. Our senior manager was also a tyrant and and despite years of complaints and bad surveys, the directors seemed to be ok with her constantly chasing people away. She had another team with 5 employees and 4 ended up leaving as well. Donna Levigne on one of our ton halls laughed when asked about teams struggling due to the hiring freeze. I always thought that the toxicity was just in my area but I'm glad i left a couple of months ago after 5 years at HCSC as I couldnt find an internal position due to the hiring freeze, huge workload and toxic upper management. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Agreed! If you are in the beginning or middle of your career, get out now while you can! This place is now toxic due to upper leadership.
Do it! I submitted at least 100 applications over the last year, finally got an interview and a job offer with another interview scheduled. Hoping to be laid off now. There’s much better opportunity out there. Stay positive and always do what’s best for you :)

This seems to be the way to go because the company has made clear that unless you are one of Maurice's cronnies or you have a friend at the top your job can be axed any moment without any notice regardless of performance or what value to add to the company. Also, they have essentially take away any little leverage employees have. We cannot longer afford to ask for a raise or even complain about the company. They have started a culture of fear. Let Jill Comic Sans that.
Same. This was beyond disgusting and disappointing in how this was handled. The hypocrisy, lack of transparency and empathy. Maurice can keep lining his pockets, i guess, but it won’t be from any contributions from me going forward. That 40 million dollar salary of his screams LET THEM EAT CAKE as he’s laying us off.
