Companies in the death throes of trying to stay solvent by cutting expenses often turn to Unlimited PTO as a cost saver. You don’t accumulate PTO, so it never needs to be paid if you leave. Rather, every PTO day becomes a negotiation with your manager. The end result is always less days off than you would have received otherwise. Is this coming?

If they do implement unlimited PTO, its a clear indication that you need to update your resume and start looking ASAP. No, 'loyalty' and 'service' doesn't matter- you're just a number to EC, and no, your job isn't 'critical' to the wellbeing of the Membership.
Unlimited PTO is a scam
I wouldn’t be surprised if USAA went that route in the very near future. It’s an easy way to reduce head count without having to pay severance along with unemployment.
@f1 but it’s not stupid or baseless if it’s what the industry is doing PLUS the industry is shrinking PLUS USAA is already in a 6 year financial slump.
Fake news!
Unlimited PTO is a trap. Average usage before warning flags are set off is 18 days. After that, you become a target for expense reduction. We get more PTO than that. Y'all abused WFH/coffee badge swipes and ruined it for the rest of us responsible folks. You really think you are responsible enough for unlimited PTO?? Half you clowns would take two weeks off a month, get canned in your third month, come cry here, then file for unemployment. Let the down votes begin!
@f1 You were saying?
Actually funny that you bring this up. I was in a call with CHRO not too long ago and this was one of the options to reduce OPEX. I wouldn’t be surprised if Juan and the board cronies approve of this.
Just get smart and vote the board members out if you are a member with voting right.
This is just wild baseless speculation. Unless you are in a position where you actually have inside info you can share, STOP MAKING THESE STUPID THREADS
