They need new attrition tactics to keep cutting headcount, preferably on the cheap. I’ve read that designated telecommuters won’t be forced back, but you can bet they’ll create “conditions” that push them out anyway. RTO will be designed to make people give up, probably with requirements many can’t realistically meet. That’s how it’s played out at every other company that rolled it out.

I’m saying “it’s not happening” because I know, for a fact, that it’s not happening. It’s not speculation. They have considered doing this and decided not to.

Yes, for those saying it’s not happening, look around at what’s happening in America that so many thought “couldn’t happen here.” The cruelty is the point. C-Suite doesn’t care. 5 day RTO is coming and if you’re remote, less API payout and no promotions. They let go of high performing employees who are pregnant; they don’t care that you’re a tele-commuter or have a medical condition. If natural attrition isn’t met, another round of layoffs in 90 days to avoid warn act reporting. I will say I have reviewed API document and a reduction in workforce (rif) is a qualifying condition to still receive your payout for the amount you worked up to the point of termination so at least those let go still will get that in March.

HCSC has made an number of employees remote workers in recent months. There are barely enough desks in some offices today. The likelihood of forcing everyone to be in the office 5 days a week is pretty low. Possible? Sure. But there will definitely be space issues if that were to happen.
This is definitely a part of their playbook. I've seen it before with my last employer. How about they cut the salaries of C-suite instead?
I won’t let the tactic work. Force them to give severance packages and then leave. I’m treating this like Squid Games for real now. It’s on
