@a3 Some Imperial Oil corporate services employees are way overpaid compared to equivalent positions amongst peer entities. Imperial is no longer the number one O&G company in Canada, having lost that title to three other companies that have eclipsed Imperial over the last decade. Imperial is now number 4 and will soon be ......

The amount of your raise will be commensurate with what lies inside DW's britches.

As a planner for downstream, we used 5% salary escalation for planning purposes for North America this year.

@cm Considering what they’re paid, a double-digit raise (if this is even true) wouldn’t amount to much. If you’re getting paid $30k/year, a 10% raise amounts to $3k, which for many people is in-line with the 1-3% raises that large publicly traded companies based in the U.S. typically give to their American workers.

50% will get below inflation. But the big savings is from slowing down promotions, combined with PIP of CL 27 to 29 (plus zero stock and RSU to bottom 40% of executives). Over time this reduces number of executives and the number of high cost CL 27 to 29. plus these jobs migrate over time to low cost countries. Add in divestment where you can dump alot of people into the buyer. Headcount drops, executives drop, Hi cost CL drop and average payroll drops. A few CL 38+ people will be big winners as stock price improves and value of RSU increase. Earnings improve and EBUs increase. Big win for highly ranked executives (who do not get sold off).

Big raises allocated for BTC, esp higher performers. Healthy Double digit %. Of course the dollar value of these is still low relative to an American salary. I expect mine with be zero or non-existent, top of pay band late career American.

@OP bruh, don't focus on the raise. Hopefully we still have jobs next week. I've heard of big news coming.

If you look around the oil patch at layoffs and limited open jobs, the NSP will be low. I would suspect 2% average with ~45% of folks getting a goose egg.

I haven't had a raise in 3 years. I was told I was above my pay band and would not recieve one until I was below the band. I will retire before this happens.

Raises likely in the 3.5% to 4% of SWB budget again this year per L1 function. Will be weighted toward highest assessed employees with room left in their salary band. What does this mean? Early to mid-career Os will get decent raises (4% to 6%), Es will get 2% to 4%, and down from there. Late career likely less as they are more likely toward top of salary band.

I received a 24% raise last July and another one for almost 3% in January.

If anyone is wondering ** is hiring for operations roles (BTL / complex engineer equivalent) for over 260k. Don’t fall for the benchmarking scam. Apply elsewhere.

@OP bro, don't worry about raises. You should be worrying about whether you will have a job next week or not. Something much worse than no raises is brewing.

Wouldn't be surprised. Last year Imperial CEO told us all at an employee forum near end of ‘24 that we are over payed per benchmarking and that's why raises will be low to non existent for 2025....can confirm, raises were cr-ppy to non existent. Same thing is happening for this seasons of salary treatment…
