It says the data is aggregated and anonymous but doing some reading about it makes me skeptical that it's actually anonymous and that I won't be punished for having some negative things to say about the direction we are going and how much I trust management.

This is likely a covert way to systematically weed out troublemakers to lay off to pay for the horrendous merger.

No. It’s certainly not anonymous if you are clicking on it through a link in an email sent to you. It’s a ploy by companies to let their employees rant so they know the ones they can mould into the next generation of flying monkeys.
I know people who never do those surveys stay on the same level and never move anywhere. However Iv seen people big up the company on those surveys and preach about how excellent/magnificent management are get impact points for just waking through the door. They know who they are. But they will tell you to take part for the good of the company.
“Help us, help you” by saying how great I am as a leader. Then back to work with you, my end of year bonus is due. Peasants!
