Fascinating how a storied and successful company like Marathon with a unique culture and technical achievements can disappear and not be relevant again. This is testament to leadership drive for self enrichment and the middle managers who destroyed the morale of the organization.

I legitimately think that LT was too full of himself to be force retired when he was hitting 65 (next year I believe). I think he wanted to be the last CEO ever for MRO as a replacement would see how poorly his tenure for us was.
Thankfully he was able to convince COP to over pay for us and the severance package was favorable to even the low level employees.
I’ve been impressed with the competitiveness and where former MRO employees have landed post acquisition. The 80/20 didn’t apply there at the end (pre-announcement). I would say solid a 60% of the company hauled their own weight plus some. HES always seemed to be a drag but hey, that’s more of the subject than the people. Would have been awesome to have caught a break with the Rex stuff…. I think we would have absolutely rocked industry.
