Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

Sharing my concerns

It seems that nobody knows anything except maybe a handful of EVPs and higher. In meetings, mgmt and HR reps can't offer any new information, just repeating the same known facts over and over again. Morale is at all time low and feels like people just pretend to be busy, while in reality not much gets done. Projects and initiatives got identified as at risks, with TBD plans to move forward. Nobody dares to make decisions for the future without knowing what resources will be available to complete the tasks or even if they themselves will be here after Oct. Meanwhile UFC will start in Jan! Seems that everyone is waiting for something to happen and for some new morsel of information, but nobody is able to come up with anything.

Not sure how much longer we can withstand this situation or recover from it after the dust settles in Nov.

Here is all you need to know...

end of October you will be let go
Night before Christmas, DE will be visited by 3 ghosts (Paramount past, present, and AI future)
He will fire the ghosts when they try to convince him that people are needed for business/creative success
Some future date: Hopefully you find yourself in a much better place and put all of this behind you while laughing at the headlines about how much of his dad's money DE continues to lose, how he capitulates to political forces, continues to hire execs with HR complaints, and ironically resorts to bringing in Saudi investors to prove he doesn't need dad's money to fill holes. Of course it's money you'll never have, but still some measure of satisfaction/amusement.

What exact information are you waiting for? We’re having a large reduction enforce on November 11. Executives were in LA last week presenting their budgets and cuts to king David.

everyone shares these concerns, if there's any comfort in that.

the sad thing is that if if they really move forward with trying to acquire WB, this situation will persist for the next 2 years at least.
