Not looking pretty out there for job seekers

With over 20 years experience in contracting and network management, recently at a senior level, I’m not getting the time of day by other employers. It’s a bunch of thanks but no thanks. I did get an offer to apply as a pharmacy tech at CVS for $16/hr though - so that’s promising. 😉
Word of caution, hang on to what you have until you have somewhere else to go. I know it’s hard, and the corporate su-k is su-king hard, but if you are not financially independent it’s going to really rough for awhile.

and most hiring managers are indians.
and if ur not like them you immediately get dismissed. been trying to look for job since june. all hiring managers/interviewers i got are indians and even if i answered their questions with flying colors, all ghosted me.

i lost my job to HIH & now i cant get a new job because of the same people.

not being a racist. but since i have started working in the US, the only time i get hired is if there is atleast 1 non-indian in the panel and now im seeing the same thing again.

anyone with the same experience?

@s6 I am considering this as well. Great people to work with too.

I have reached out to friends on LinkedIn for IT / network and have also considered changing fields to commercial HVAC heating and cooling. I already have a background in electrical low voltage and building management systems (SCADA). I've also looked at positions for physical pharmacy security. Pay is less, but benefits and job security is better.

A lot of people out there are just applying to jobs hoping and praying they get that call. The game has changed, have to start thinking differently. Get on LinkedIn, start connecting with people, reach out to your network—it’s only way you can get your resume to the top of the pile. A lot of great candidates get rejected simply because they do not pass the ATS system.
