Below average performance rating.
I remember I had no raises for 2 years with a 4k bonus for the year which included mid year and end of year with a IPF of 100 at the time. I was making meaningful contributions during the pandemic when I worked at Cisco. My manager was trying to pivot the ipf so that everyone gets their bonuses since your rating is tied to budget at that time. I don't know if it is like that anymore. I eventually left and received a $60K raise, since Cisco tends to pay below average. As a G4 Software Engineer, I was making $75K.
that is bad but not terribly bad. If this trend continues next year for you, op, then it is really bad.
110 IPF is... not good. Consider that most managers give a 100 for someone barely doing their job. Anyone that is pretty good should be at least 120 (IMO)
I exceeded expectations and all I got was a handful of gift cards to bankrupt retailers. Anyone want a Borders Bookseller card with $8 on it?
I was told my next paycheck will be paid with 264 assorted Bed Bath And Beyond store credits
Do not wish for promotions. Period.
Work long enough, let you will get promoted.
Then you will be moved to a new manager, as the person who promoted you, if they also stay long enough; will they themselves move out to a new position.
When your new manager comes in, you will be targeted first for LR; especially if they do not see critical value in your grade and role within the organization.
Add to the above, cultural and philosophy differences; especially if your new manager has a propensity of hiring "like" personality and ethnicity characteristics, and you are genetically outside his hiring tendencies.
This is what lead to my LR, as have many others. Re-read the above paragraph if it does not make sense.
Be careful of what you wish for, things can change overnight.
Promotion in one year ! Wake up !
Expectations are many at grade 11. Too early for pay raise and promotion.
Also depends upon your BU. Is it money making or flat or down ? They are distributing the money saved from recent layoffs to everyone.
Managers are known to steal RSU and bonus. Politics and tribalism also comes into picture.
LOL one year??? Lower the expectations. Cisco doesn’t give raises and promotions. You joined the wrong company.
The best way to get raises and promotions is to leave and come back.
I haven't heard back from my manager about the IPF, hike, and RSU. Does that mean I'm not getting anything?
G6 1.2 IPF, 8% Merit, 1.4k bonus, no RSU, APAC region. Is this good or should I be worried?
I had a 1:1 with my manager today and he told me he’s not sure if he’s allowed to tell me the merit/bonus. Does that mean it’s a-s?
