Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Drifters and coasters getting all the accolades

We have a few coasters in our team working on same item since idk, 5 sprints

And they have 0 knowledge of what they are building, cannot even write or understand a simple join query

Guess what, they get to demo all my work.

Why do managers encourage such behavior???

@b4 try to be someone's favorite???

If you were in the team, you'd know how favoritism is deep rooted within fidelity.

It seems OP is new to fidelity so they might need some time getting used to the toxic culture.

I have been part of 4 squad now and experienced it first hand, a level 7 Squad lead or director of this and that plays favorite by unnecessary praising an average performer.

The leaders should make a note of such behavior.

If you can't praise a high performer, at least don't rub salt into their wounds by praising someone who is mediocre at best

Honestly that just tells me you’re bad at public speaking and/or presenting technical work. Instead of being jealous just follow in their footsteps and try to be someone’s favorite.
