Has anyone heard of anyone that was put on a PIP not being eligible for the PIL if they opt out of the PIP? The person in question was a salary employee if that matters.

You can swap to the PIL from the PIP, but your end date will be the same as the original end date. I.E. your payout will be 3 months minus however much time you spent on the PIP.
How much do you get for the pil?
They tried to get me to resign instead of going through pip. They wanted me to take the pil and leave. I chose the pip. I think i can chose the pil if I am not doing well on the pip.
