After failing for two years to even come close to inflation with raises, while straining many families’ budgets with RTO and associated expenses, teasing us with a holiday gift card as a phishing exercise is quite an awkward blunder. It’s about as gauche, cringeworthy, and tone-deaf as it gets.

Sure, but I feel like the vast majority of people new it was a phishing test the moment they saw the name “Michael Scott” in their inbox. The one that came around Halloween was the name of Bette Midler’s character in “Hocus Pocus.” They don’t seem to be trying very hard to trick people.
