Off shoot from staff leaving in their droves

Someone wrote the following

The cancellation of raises and bonuses, the increasingly toxic working culture, hiring freezes, nepotism, avarice of leadership, and the 500M cost cutting makes the situation for employees clear as day: the leadership are trying to smoke you out. It's cheaper than paying for (in)voluntary redundancy. They want you to become so frustrated that you will leave on your own accord to save a few bucks, and it seems to be working. Color me surprised. Do not heed to their words, this is what they are overtly doing.

This is EXACTLY what they are doing. 500m cut and you would expect a blood bath but we’re at the end of this calendar year and apart from a few staff getting cut here and there it’s been rather muted.

Instead they are relying on staff to leave of their own accord with no severance pay. It’s certainly cheaper than paying for redundancy. They are literally demoralising you to such an extent that the hope is people will just leave.

Absolute sc-m these people are, HR are in on it too. Underhand tactics to sc--w over loyal staff.

"Finally you guys understood the strategy. Phew how long! But anyways what are the next steps OP?"

Already took the "next step" a while ago... left the cesspit.
Good pay, bonus, goodies, team events....and most importantly, being treated well. Never thought these would be worth mention but now I know not to take these for granted.
If anything, brings back memories of how things were good just like that once upon a time....and then disturbing recollections of how all of that was thrown away to turn 180 degrees around to the other end of the spectrum. Bit by bit it was stripped off, and what was "WTF" to start with became the norm (like lack of annual pay revision).
In hindsight, neither M1 nor M2 had their hearts in any kind of "turnaround".

If I have to sum up in a sentence, the root cause of DXC's demise is the failure to invest in people. Everything else can be traced back to that one sentence.

Blah blah blah this has been CSC for 50 years now. "Loyal" staff? What is this, 1972? If you didn't jump for higher pay in the last two years when the industry was going gangbusters, you're definitely overcompensated or paralyzed by fear of the unknown, and lucky that your job wasn't outsourced to probably India two decades ago.

That's where all the "loyal" folks who've stuck around for 30+ years are, and also because everyone who wrote/managed what we're running is retired or dead. CSC/HPE have been dropping off the chaff like flies since way before you were born, and if you were on the HPE side, certainly during the Carly clueless glorified marketing CEO era. Fact of the matter is that if your team isn't selling, producing, billing, or saving money in big chunks, you're overhead, and it's been like that for a long long time.

Also remember a lot of people would have joined CSC via a TUPE, where their length of service would include the previous employer.

"Instead they are relying on staff to leave of their own accord with no severance pay."

Kind of "understand" the "strategy" here... but what happens, say, if adequate number of people do not get frustrated enough ane leave?

For a large number of people, it is a he-l lot of money... especially in Europe and UK where severance packages are typically much more liberal than in the States...
So , a lot of them might want to stick in and wait for that redundancy letter.... than give up on hundreds of thousands of bucks just because of "frustration"... they will simply whale off their time...
