Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Well, Chevron has achieved the impossible

I hate it here so much that job hunting actually feels like relief instead of a chore. It takes a lot for that to be true for a procrastinator like me.

How about if you're over 60 and still working hard and loving it and laughing at the incompetent ne'er do wells while collecting a fat paycheck.

Awesome! So you finally realized that there's no more gravy train from mommy Chevron and you have to get off of your keister and go out and actually work for a living? No more easy do nothing office job for high pay and bennies? Chevron collectively says "You're Welcome!!!!" Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

You should be grateful for everything Chevron has given you.

@dd
Good description of the smell of India in your comment. Many years ago I traveled to India with a different company and I will never forget the putrid odor of decaying organic matter when the door of the airplane opened up at the airport in Mumbai. 😂

I am impressed it only took you 6 weeks to figure it out. I am disappointed to say it took me over three years to figure it out but that was twenty years ago and I still believed in the Chevron way mantra back then.
I would love to have a 1 year end date while I train my replacement. It would be like doing time in prison but without the physical danger part. And the psychological torture would be easier to endure as I count the days remaining on the cubicle wall.

@OP Agreed! - They are really cranking up the afterburners on the dumpster fire - spreading that sweet, sweet, smokey garbage juice smell far and wide.
Almost makes one feel good to part of the severed crew.

L-Hess employee here. My department is all gone on 6/30/2026 after we train our replacements in India. Have to agree….6-8 weeks into this merger and I’m actually relieved they’re not keeping me around. So far, upper mgmt seems clueless and feels like working for Chevron would’ve been a hellhole existence.

It's awful. Worst 'leaders'. Utterly greedy and selfish.
