Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

We are all needed

Is the bs they are telling claims. Even the wfh employees that they are needed. But no promotions or openings for wfh, only in hubs. Very suspicious. Appears as if they are moving jobs to the hub but with 40% of the workforce being fully wfh how would they ever get it all into the hubs? Everyone is miserable and praying for the exit offer.

30% current expense ratio! Agents make up 12% of it! The average agent's compensation was $528K at the end of 2024. We have almost 21,000 agents so we pay agents over $11 billon dollars every year. That does not even factor in all the field discounting, system support, calls to operations and all the other money through fraudulent claims the agent's coach their policyholders through it is probably close to 50% of our expense ratio! Between MT and the agents they have been bleeding dry this company for decades!

@d4 get a clue, pensions are paid out of a separate fund which has ballooned with the market. Your premium pays agents, I dont know what percentage but I bet 30% of it goes to agents. It's an antiquated model.

Of course we are needed. We are trying to handle 250-400 claims each and we are cheap labor without the overhead costs. They can work us like dogs and let natural attrition through retirements/quitting take its toll on WFH. Plus they watch every little thing you do and measure every second of your idle time, watching us more then anyone was ever watched in an office, leading to more disgust/early retirement/people leaving. Why would they pay severance to get rid of seasoned WFH folks when they have us by the you know what.

Imagine getting paid a pension for 20 plus years after you retire while our premiums go up. Freeze the pension now or we cancel our policies.

Can’t put a face with a remote employee you get what you get! No advancement if they don’t even know who you are good luck!

I do feel for the fully remote folks, State Farm is going to sc--w them over eventually. If you don't remember MT looked as happy as a puppy with two peters! He was actually giddy about it when he announced he was closing the rest of the offices. It didn't go the way he wanted with COVID but JF, his little mini-me, is still here. Corporate America is desperate to return to pre-covid where they are "in charge" and running the show.... you worthless minions. They want you miserable, stuck in traffic and burdened with such high expenses and living pay check to pay check they think you will do anything they say just to keep a job! Same trash, they can just hide it from time to time. F-ck SF!
