"Why is it that AT&T employees have to be tracked? Get better employees, problem solved."

ATT employees don't have to be tracked. The C-Suite is just trying to make the environment as miserable as possible for the employees so they will quit without severance. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

It seems like publicly admitting the report they used to fire people was broken could open them up for a lawsuit.

there is a massive difference between firing people for doing a grandpa simpson (walking in, immediately walking out) and people losing an hour or two because DRS checks every 15 minutes, their laptop might have gone to sleep even as they worked in the office, or worse stuff happened. Do you know someone who was fired for working 6 hour days according to the report?

The people i know who were fired likely admitted it, or did not contest it. And according to Legg were on video with their arrival and departure. Doesn't matter how bad the report in that case.

Never understood the fuss. I've been questioned twice about specific dates. I was able to prove I was on the corporate LAN beyond the time indicated in the report and that was the end of it. Be where you are supposed to be and don't worry about it.

according to your own testimony 'being where you were supposed to be' isn't enough.
you have to spend your time every day documenting your presence as a CYA.

If you've gotta take a picture of yourself by a clock in the office, there is really something wrong with where you're working. This isn't retail. We dont have to clock in and out.

They have known for a LONG time that system is flawed, they are just finally admitting it to the public.

AT&T tracked employee attendance to find 'freeloaders.' Now, it admits the system is driving workers to the 'brink of frustration.'
