Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Safra at the White House

Everything really clicked for me this week watching Safra and other tech CEOs line up at the White House dinner, kissing the DJT ring. They’re thanking him profusely for flipping the script. The era of employees holding the power? Over.

When’s the last time you heard an Oracle leader talk about wellbeing, mental health, or diversity? The buzz words of the last 5 years. Those conversations have all but disappeared. The employer’s market is back — and with it, the return of treating employees as expendable.

@c9 Well she didn't, but point taken. She is a master spreadsheet jockey. Former CFO who ironically touts "non-GAAP" results as if that matters.

Quite different from the guys that actually design and code the products.

@ay She's smarter than any of them. She's gotten a company whose customers typically hate them to hit a nearly $1T valuation.

Tech CEOs at the white house. When do we get to hit the Pause Button on property tax and capital gains tax? Like, is there a “Cancel Subscription” option hidden somewhere in the fine print? Because so far, I’m paying luxury prices for Walmart-level service. I live in San Mateo County. Can the bay area tech CEOs help cover the tab and start funding local law enforcement? I don't want to pay anymore because it's so expensive. 😡😡😡😡😡

And boy did she look out of place among all smart, capable those tech guys. She knew it, too.
