Why are they so bad? They don’t know what they are doing, schedule too many useless calls, and don’t know how to actual lead or manage a team.

Because they are young and book smart. They have no institutional knowledge. All of us old farts with the institutional knowledge know whio to call and which rock to flip over to actually accomplish things in this company.
They were taught to look busy all the time. Hence they will schedule meetings to talk about scheduling more meeting that will result in additional meetings for things that can be done via email or a quick phone call
