Thread regarding Illumina Inc. layoffs

If you're planning to quit, don't rush it

I handed in my resignation, and I can’t stop wishing I had done it differently. I wanted to get out as fast as possible, but I didn’t do my due diligence, and now I’m in a far-from-ideal position. Looking back, I think I would have waited for a better offer or prepared more carefully before making the leap. It’s a tough lesson learned the hard way.

People needs to change and adapt to the ever changing world. Worker from other countries comes to US to put bread on their table back home.

They too leave their family and love ones to make sure their love ones are taken care of first.

They are willing to sacrifice, change and adapt to survive in far away countries.

Unfortunately for illumina there is still people with such mind set of not changing and wait for food to fall from the sky.

With such mindset people illumina is doom.

@13c This is starting to come off as inconsiderate. These are people's lives, they have families and people they need to take care of who can't just up and move. If people were simply just workers then sure, but they're not. Maybe consider being less flippant with just telling people to immigrate across the world without any care for the other obligations they might have.

Those who plan to quit, please consider a company transfer to APAC manufacturing/operation site, where recruitment is still growing strong.

Join them for job stability and advancement.

Be encouraged and apply now. Good luck

Jacob? HR?
I left a bit quickly from a company with a very bad culture for a non ideal job. I then applied for a better job.
I would not regret if I were you. If you wanted out quickly it is probably good for your mental.health, your relationships... that you did.
Also if you had stayed you might have been part of the next RIF and then would have found yourself with no jobs rather than something at least even if not ideal.
Also to console you the bullsh-t never stops, we had new company values delivered last week.
