Has anyone else received a request to complete a background check? What did it include, and what specifically are they checking for?….. seems off

Yes been here 10 years, often a state or special product will require it. For example TX FC (anyone who touched FC) had to do it every 2 years. Its not an odd request in the UM/CM/SC space
Odd request if it truly is after you’re already hired. Are working two jobs at the same time? Were you honest when you applied? No exaggeration of skills, education, or certifications?
If none of the above then it’s no biggie. Normally it’s done before you start. Ever heard of one afterward.
@vt it’s a requirement for us to do marketplace business in certain states. people are already paranoid, don’t make it worse with made-up s*it.
They are looking to clean house and this is a workaround to reporting layoffs if they get lucky and find something
Interesting. I had a pre-employment background check but not since being hired.
It’s normal for them to do them periodically. What they are looking for depends on your job. For example, if you are required to drive for your job they will be looking for tickets, if you work with youth they will be looking for charges related to minors, if you work with finances they will do a credit check, if your job requires a license they will check to see if it’s active, etc.
If you’re paranoid about a BG Check post hire…. Ummmm yeah sounds like you’ve been up to something post hire and you’re worried the company will find out.

@OP reported as phishing and got a response that classified it as spam…only to later hear from leadership that it was legit (and mandatory). someone definitely blew the rollout.
