Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Where is HR? Is it always like this?

Conveyed employees are all over the country, waiting to find out if they have a future at HCSC, while HR is completely silent. No updates on whether remote employees will ever be eligible for promotions or internal transfer opportunities. No effort being made to engage conveyed remote team members. Not even an inkling that the people in the wrong roles or compensation grades are being looked at or corrected.

Is it always like this at hcsc? Does hr keep everything close to the chest until policies are rolled out? It seems that even leadership is in the dark.

@1b1 they do exist...lining their pockets...just Google to see their increase in pay along side CEO after Paula Stiener was forced out. Different company. Would never happen if HCSC had to report to shareholders...

@qm - employees don't want to come in for one day a week.

This makes it sound like we have an ineffective Board of Directors….

@qm

I have no idea if HCSC is overbloated, but if so let's hope yours and those without a shred of empathy are on that list.

"Employees want to come into the office for 1 day a week."

This website needs an iq minimum for posting.

@qm Lazar was an interim CEO with Maurice in the wings to take over. He was a board member..again, assigned interim CEO. It was Maurices decisions and buy in for the first line of RIFs so that Maurice can have the folks he wanted in leadership. Also, HR reports to CEO. They dont do anything! Without being instructed to by C suite ... CEO. You can't keep shifting responsibility from Maurice for the current state of the company. And all payors are not laying off folks. Other large payors and blues have made different strategic moves, Aetna out of ACA, Humana out of commercial group, Cigna out of MA, and other decisions that are proving superior to HCSCs. Not to mention how Anthem is doing much much better than HCSC.

@av As of today there has not been a RIF on Maurice’ watch. Maurice probably should cut jobs, every other Payee is. Employees want to come into the office for 1 day a week. He paid us bonuses during Covid. There has not been a RIF since Dave Lesar…. HR is HR

Hr is a web portal. Dont feel bad it the same for hcsc empoyees. If you hear from hr it would probably be the layff call. If i were cigna and wanted to remain. I would be planning on moving somewhere with an office when the time comes . The current admin would make us come 5 daya week if they could. They dont want anyone ful remote unless they are an IT contractor

@bf If you’re fully remote, I’d be trying to stay off HR’s radar entirely at the moment.

If you’re fully remote, your only hr contact is the askhr portal. It’s a nameless, faceless and dehumanizing.

Rare promotions, they’ll never realign you or your pay unless there is some sort of legal action or state requirement to do so.

It’s just how it goes.

@OP it was an awesome company to work for until Maurice became CEO and then first round of RIFs...then, forcing others out...

I have been here a while and it’s always been like this. You will never receive answers. Just keep your head down, do your work, and collect your paycheck. It’s just a job and this company couldn’t care less about you or me.
