I wonder if this is a brainstorming session to figure out how to meet the expense targets for 2025 & 2026.

It was most likely to discuss the global real estate stuff about buildings, and parking, and where people will be sitting, etc. in accordance with the memo that was going out about the same.
Anytime I meet with Legg I get the urge to laugh at this wanna be CTO clown. Here’s the problem, I can’t hold it in anymore. I bite my lip, I pinch my own hand, but the more I try to hold it in, the closer a full on laughing fit is to escaping. This time I got as far as turning beet red. I made an excuse that it must be something I ate. Very unprofessional but It’s Jeremy after all. I cannot stop laughing inside about him.
@av if you get laid off you get the bonus, read the severance plan...
Layoffs before Christmas - have to save that bonus payout. They’ve been doing that the past couple of years then folks don’t get a bonus. 25Q4 layoffs, around December. They’ll let you know the week before Thanksgiving. Positive about that is no overspending for Christmas, yes it’s a grinch move. Next layoffs with be 26Q1 - typically Feb or Mar, then 26Q2 around May/Jun.

There really is no use in doing a head count reduction this year. At best, you get a benefit of the last quarter but lose it with the severance payout. They might still do it to start 2026 at lower head count numbers.
Surely one of them is watching this message board while they’re sitting in the meeting. Offer volunteer packages. That is the guaranteed fastest way to get you to your targets.

We were told in the Torreta org no more layoffs until next year.
