Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

These effing laptops

Ok, so not a layoff post but a rant. Why is it almost every morning my laptop has rebooted due to mandatory updates and every file I had opened is a "recovered" file I have to overwrite to rename. I work in finance so have loads of Excel SS open and it's just causing me extra work! FFS

I don't have tbe problem with the recovered files, but every day I turn my laptop on, wait for the login screen then enter my pin. From here it takes about 15 minutes for stuff to load before it'll respond to me clicking on anything. About the time I get everything i need opened I get tbe forced update and reboot and have to start over.

cheap laptop to begin with then add all the bloatware and poorly written internal apps. then pile half a dozen security apps to monitor all that

every Dell laptop I have had has been poor. I dont know if its the hardware or the build that they are shipping them with but they have all had stupid quirks. My last one would blue screen reboot (rinse and repeat about 4 times) before eventually being stable. I ended up leaving it powered on all week because if i rebooted then i had to go through that again. Bluetooth audio was also sketchy on it.

Bring back the thinkpads, never had an issue with that.
