Can you get in trouble for not taking the VOE? It's pointless and big waste of time.

@hq Both of them are re--rds from PWC. What can you expect from these clowns 🤡. Unsure what Jane saw in them that she gave them baton to fix a problem but instead they are creating more mess 😂 May the bank die peacefully and rest in peace . Amen 🙏
I noticed that Citi limited most of the comments boxes to 500 characters. This is a joke since 500 includes spaces and punctuation (periods, commas, quotation marks, etc.) not only words.
It looks like Citi would rather employees air out Citi's dirty laundry, complaints and grievances on this and other internet sites than on the VOE. LOL!
So what is the morale of the story???
@hp yeah I remember when Nawani first got the data job. He ran a mini VoE for data but with like 50 or so QnA mainly about culture. We never even got to know the results - they weren't discussed, nothing was published. It just sort of vanished. Made me think at the time that what was in that survey that it needed to be buried? Neither Nawani nor Tim ever spoke about it again after it was completed.
VoE is useless for am employee point of view. They will airbrush the results, keep the bad numbers out of focus, talk endlessly about nothing in particular, pat themselves on the back and move on. No individual leader will get spoken to behind closed doors no matter what his/her individual scores are.
Save your time - 10 mins that you'll never get back ever
The fact that you have to ask the question, perfectly captures the culture of fear and suspicion in the company.
You will be consistently harassed by your senior management to complete this, not because they have any interest in your feedback, but because their managers are applying pressure to them to get the percentage complete figures as high as possible in case it reflects badly on them.
The VOE is not completely anonymous, and depending on how blunt your responses are, it can be tracked back if required.
The VOE results are always slanted towards the positive results in subsequent communications, and any negative feedback will be shared, but completely minimised. No-one has an interest in tackling awkward responses, e.g. if employees are raising concerns re: ongoing RIFs and the associated job uncertainty.
Your individual feedback will not change a thing.
Your direct manager may, or may not, share the VOE feedback. I’ve had managers who did not share the feedback as it reflected badly on them, which completely defeats the purpose of providing it.
@dw
No thanks HR, MD or D.
VOE is one of the few times or tools where employees can air out dirty laundry and/or expose toxic or bully Managers, in addition to going to Internet sites like www.thelayoff.com and others.
Toxic, psychotic and bully managers, coworkers and MotherFvckers in general hide and use ambiguity and anonymity as their we@pons.
They think employees will be too afraid or embarrassed to expose their toxicity and bullying behaviours.
Remember, everyone has a Manager, even CEO Jane Fraser (the shareholders).
Turn the beat around and expose them ! Do unto others as they've done unto you.
Give them a taste of their own medicine and see how they like it. I've personally witnessed toxic and bully MotherFvckers become Lilliputian when they get a bitter taste of their own toxic medicine! LOL !
Hey people you should take the voe and not be so negative as they do know who submits what. You should answer that things are mostly OK and a few things need improvement. Dumping on your manager in these things is bad for your career. Use common sense...
I naively took an employee survey at another bank because they wouldn't stop harassing me to take it.
I let them have it. I told them my manager was a bully and that the company supported that type of behavior and that this manager was creating a toxic work environment.
Within a few weeks, I was out of there. I was already on bad terms with that manager, but I am sure my candidacy didn't help.
They know who takes it and who doesn't.
I don't think I will take it, either. It's definitely not anonymous, inspite of what they say.
Most of the time problem is not with your manager or next level manager. So, if you can answer questions related to senior management (top 3 levels) then I would do it. But, lately I had not seen more questions on that management level. But most questions were on your team and immediate manager which makes it useless for me. But, I still used to fill out to take my frustration out on senior management to minimize impact on my immediate manager as I liked him. Yes, I spend many years are at this place but not there now - working with useless HR to get package details for 7 weeks.
It’s a completely pointless excercise, and is done purely for the optics.
The 2024 VOE results weren’t even communicated by my manager, as the feedback from my team on their performance & management approach was excoriating. That feedback was buried, and the situation continued. A number of team members then bypassed this manager to provide feedback to their manager, and that has had made virtually no difference this year, but the team member’s names who came forward, will have been noted.
The 2024 negative feedback on the massive impact on morale due to Bora Bora was minimised in every single townhall, particularly wgen it cane to Slido questions, with a bland scripted response to any staff concerns raised.
Fill it out, or don’t fill it out, it makes absolutely no difference.
Doesn’t matter what you do. VOE is just optics that we listen to care vs taking action to care. Basically it is a checkmark we have a good employee hygiene where we listen to them via VOE. It is all BS. Nothing has changed and nothing will ever change.
While it's supposed to be anonymous, in smaller groups it's pretty easy to tell who said what. MDs and Ds are accountable for completion of the VOE and in my group they hound you to no end on getting 100%. And they can tell by process of elimination who didn't. larger groups, maybe not. At the end of the day does it ever really matter. You think anyone at any actionable level cares about you? It's worded in a way to curve the responsibility back on you anyway.
You will do them more trouble if you put the lowest grades on everything instead of not doing it. Plus, you are paid to do it, so do it instead of doing actual work :D
This is an official paid opportunity to not do your work, so you quiet quitters should relish this opportunity to get paid to take a survey and complete it with fake results and hence incorrectly advising the company hehehe
Why did I not get a VOE email lol
Results impact your D and MD. Yes, it is actually anonymous. No, you won't get in trouble for not doing it. But it takes 10 minutes so whats the harm. Some of you conspiracy theorists need to clear your head 😂
This is the good opportunity to send your feedback , like I put “strongly disagree “ for most the questions
No, they never get 100 percent. Careful they do know who you are.
Yes a buzzer sounds and you are met with a boote
No you cannot. That said this is my final VOE so this time I actually sis. With any luck I won’t be around to see the results. Was cathartic though.
