Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Keeping members in the loop

I work face to face with providers and members and decided to actually encourage them to come to this site and others to be informed about the atrocities of this company and how greedy and shallow the shareholders are. It is important members know the authorizations and care they need are getting created and handled by people oversees. I’ve had providers vent for hours on how rude the Indian representatives are and how they input the incorrect information in the system. I attend very single town meeting and take notes and inform those who are outside the company because this had got to stop. We need to take care of our members and only have American citizens handling their cases. I have even helped a few members find better and more affordable insurances and start the process for canceling whatever they have under UHG. I don’t care anymore.

The Town Halls are a joke. You can ask questions in the chat but unless it's about anything other than supporting their fake cheerleading agenda, they won't answer.

@rb no, but the tech nerd is the one who approves it, and without the approval, no service is rendered, so who really is providing the care? That’s why this whole operation is a scam

Saying patients are GETTING Care from overseas is a bit much. Who actually creates the Auth? Not some tech nerd in Mumbai that is for sure.

f8+1k4hbpn3y. Everything said isn’t under an NDA or anything the company can see as leaking information, it is all public knowledge if you look for it. If you’re business savvy you can find it all on their public website and other sources that are public domain. So no a lawsuit will not happen. Most of the public think these things are hearsay or conspiracy theories so an employee confirming it will just push them to take it seriously and look for a better insurance. It’s not persuading anyone. If I told you Walmart meat is filled with additives is that getting you to hate Walmart? Or just informing you to make better options? Same thing here.

@f8 no body has to persuade anyone to hate the company. They are experts and have been doing it for years. Now they just have to hope they didnt do to good of a job.

If it makes you feel good go for it but all performative and will have zero effect.

I was stuck in a line at the gro store not long ago (system went down and had to be rebooted). I was conversing with the two older people behind me, and BT and UHG came up. I told them I worked there, and spilled the tea about offshoring, American vs foreign workers and how we can't stand each other, denials, executive bonuses, and more. They were appalled, and they were going to talk to their providers and broker. I also told them to read this site to see how the employees really feel. This is what we all need to do. It is said, if you tell one person they tell ten more. Spread the truth, because our leaders won't admit it.

Kudos but I just stopped caring. Quiet quitting is a lot easier.

Not gonna lie most of the members know these products su-k. But their employer offers UHG or Centene or whoever and that is it. No other options. So they probably get angry about these things you say but already knew it was dogshit, they just don’t have any options beyond what their employer offers.

I did the same thing. Lately I been telling any number of hospital utilization review and casemanager about their tactics to deny admissions with their fully insured criteria and other sleezy tactics such as their escalation list. I even read them the full denial, not that canned letter they are sent. I point out how the admission was denied and how the MD denied it on the information he just said was not there documented.
