Does citi pay the vacation time you are owed if you quit? Or if you are laid off?

I do miss my days at citi. Had some great chats at the water cooler
@qv Vacation Pay Out at Divorce Time (whether voluntary or involuntary) depends on the U.S. State.
Be aware that Vacation PTO is a form of Salary or Compensation. It's just like getting a company car, apartment, house, etc. in lieu of or instead of Cash.
Many Employees foolishly let their Vacation-PTOs expire or Not use them. This is like giving Cash, their Salary back to Citi or any Employer ! This is plain Stvpid on the part of employees !
In most U.S. States, the law states that unused Vacation-PTOs MUST be paid back to the departing employee, whether the Divorce was voluntary or involuntary. Contact or go to the website of your States' Dept. of Labor.
@OP - I have about 200 hours of frozen sick & vacation time leftover from when Citi & Traveler's merged decades ago. I am hoping to get a little extra upon retirement / termination from that bucket, but I would venture it's just there to taunt me and I will never see any of it.
It is not illegal in maryland. They default to the company's policy. So like morgan stanley doesn't pay for earned vacation days at separation....
It is illegal not to pay accrued vacation when separating for any reason. But, you won't get paid for any other unused accruals such as volunteering hours, sick or family sick days etc.
@c5 Wrong. It covers all types of separation including voluntary.
Accrued time off, yes. Sick days that are given to you and expire at the end of the year, no.
I dont think they do. Nor sick days
@ag the handbook really only covers separation pay if laid off.
Have you read your handbook delegation policy? Or do you want someone to do it for you?
Every company does
