The facility managers or people who think they own the office are monitoring reservations and checking attendance.

@OP It's a reflection of our current administration's "American Dream"; an authoritarian nightmare for real people, while the "dream" is for billionaires and their boot licks.

@az its 2025 who is wearing a suit or tie? I haven’t had an in person meeting scheduled in ages. No one turns their cameras on, what’s the point? What department is this and location!

@az Well your hall monitor should probably be advised that they are incorrect in their understanding of dress for your day.

@z0 I don't understand why people care. The FAQ says to be flexible with hours so like, do what you need to do for yourself and leave other people alone. The folks that are remote are literally stuck in their roles until they quit due to no fault of their own.

The in-office culture they're creating is nothing short of nuclear waste level toxic. People need to grow the fu-k up and deal with their own misery without dragging others down with them. We all hate this, but bullying your colleagues helps no one. Not even the bullies. They're just shooting themselves in the foot.

That’s exactly it, misery wants company.

In my department, we have 5 people that are still remote because they live over 60 miles from hub, while the rest of us are 3 days in.

Lots of chatter and jealousy about why some are remote and backstabbing parents that need to leave early to pick up kids or take care of parents.

Lots of hatred and jealousy going on and stopping into people life about why some leaves early.

Reminds me of when people smoke and the smokers go on break every 50 minutes and the rest of us goes, how come we don’t all get break every 50 minutes?

@ty that and misery loves company. People are mad that some have more flexibility than others so they make everyone's lives miserable by complaining that so and so left "early" or someone didn't come in one day they had a desk reserved. It's turned people into a bunch of petty children. Like, grow up and mind your own business.

@sy this is why the current system incentivizes doing everything you can to NOT collaborate or "make a friend" at the office.

I don’t know if it’s bank assigned, but I know we have snitches and people that ask me where I was. WTF? I don’t even work in their department.

I have pre-approval early leave for appointment which I took half day vacation for and it’s none of their business to ask me why I am leaving at 11am, but that doesn’t stop them from asking me. And these are not friendly people that I talk to or close to, which I would tell the. If they were that I am leaving early.

We have a lot of employees who feels snitching on their co workers means they can stay employed if we get canned

Not that I doubt this is happening at this company, but is there direct evidence people are being assigned to snitch?

Keep in mind that some of them may be self appointed hall monitors. LOL
We have one in Digital that makes her business to know when we comevand go, when we gobto lunch and where, when we come back and I kid you not.... When we go use the rest room she asks where we were.
Then she brings it up in all team meetings.

When layoffs hit, it’s every person for themselves. Don’t be surprised if people notice when you show up for just an hour and then dip. Eyes are always watching.

@kj Bingo, that's exactly it. They are literal hall monitors, because the company hates and doesn't trust its employees.

Our local hall monitor sent out an email this week saying “dress for your day” does not apply to the hub and we should all be dressing “professional” suits and ties.
