China has been investing heavily into it's own EUV lithography machine. They're not there now, but neither was Nvidia when Intel was king.

China could easily poach ASML's engineers and to help them advance.

Don't underestimate China.

China is building it's own advance lithography machine with help from ASML. The sanction are for ASML machines, but not for ASML employees. ASML is hiring positions in China to help them make their own lithography machine to keep their relationship in tact. When China starts making their own 3nm and 2nm lithography machine, the entire US market will crash especially since China is also a provider of many rare earth mineral. And with AI advancing faster than ever, US jobs are at risk. Intel won't be able to catch up to TSMC, Samsung, or China (eventually). Alibaba and Huawei are already making their own AI chips.
