Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

It’s frustrating to see so many high performers being let go every single round

Years of dedication and results don’t seem to matter anymore. It’s demoralizing for those of us left behind, to say the least. Knowing that hard work means nothing is certainly not a morale booster.

It matters where you work. It matters what team you are on. If you choose a D-list company you will be recognized as a D-list contributor. The worst employee at OpenAI will have a better career than the best employee from Cisco. Don't get mad and downvote, just accept this truth. Like the old saying: "you are judged by the company you keep". It doesn't matter if you accept this, the HR filters at the companies you apply to implement it.

In today's CISCO - majority of the staffs are treated as beans - Cost of each bean is the single most dominated factor in terms of LR unfortunately. CISCO is not alone here. Many other tech giants do the same.
