It’s pretty clear leadership isn’t thinking beyond the next quarterly report. The long-term impact of shedding talent, experience, and skill doesn’t seem to matter at all. No matter how well or poorly a company is doing, there are always cuts, so there’s more money for the people at the top. Leadership doesn’t care about efficiency. They care about the bottom line, right here, right now.

Layoffs are always about money. I don’t know why PP and GPs want to lie about this and always provide a word salad of explanation. Other companies that are doing layoffs like discover and capital one provide a reasonable severance payment rather than this pitiful 2 weeks per yr. Provide a good severance payment. That is being human centered and caring for associates that you are pushing out.
