@bj: HR and GP were on the call? Did they say your role is eliminated?
@bk ugh I hope not. That would be the just be the cherry on top.
@bg yep, you’re right. A decrease in grade level will mean a 30-40% reduction in trimester bonus, on average. I have to work with the data so I see this.
Let’s all celebrate Penny getting a 17% raise in 2024 and 16% raise in 2025 while Edward Jones establishes a bank and we are being laid off with some of our jobs sent overseas!! WOOT! Ted & Pat are ROLLING in their graves. Next everyone will be demanded back into the office 3-5 days a week: just watch T2 2026 it’s gonna happen!
I got let go.
@b6 You can thank Ryan Littlemore for that. He’s in the NYC penthouse office with Chubak.
@b9 You won't get a salary decrease unless your current salary is above the max for the new role's range. You will get smaller bonuses, though.
So who is going follow some of these ghouls around the office ringing a bell while chanting, "Shame!, Shame! Shame!".
@bb apparently it means there is some sort of a change. What I’ve been told is could be ISP, leader change, job grade change, etc.
Wishing you and everyone good luck
Was HR on the call during conversation about role change?
@OP Does a GP invite for 30 mins from now mean I am losing my job? Ugh.
@b8 that’s unfortunate because leaders were told that the GPs would let people know they can have the rest of the day off to process whatever news they hear. Goodness.
@Az, did you get a paycut with the grade being downgraded?
@b7 Nop, I was told to keep doing my job. The transition will take time, and I will learn more about my current team members' and leader's status on Wednesday. The transition will begin in September.
@az did your GP say you can take the rest of the day off to process?
What kind of sicko kicks this whole thing off with the branding “Reimagined”? Red Flag
@b3 The pooled teams were named on July 28th. The email came from amplify.
@b3 some (but probably not all) of them were shared in one of the more recent ER announcements.
How do we know which areas/roles are pooled?
@at which pooled area are you in?
@az su-ks bc I worry we will see a lot of these, especially after they made it clear that refusing to accept counts as a resignation, rather than a layoff.
My new team, GP, sent a team message and we met five minutes later. I was told my role is changing and my grade level will be downgraded.
@av if you are licensed, I just confirmed while inactive after ISP you get two years to be sponsored by another financial firm. After that you would have to retake the exam. Some people think it is a once you have it license and unfortunately it is not.
@av several have been told 15 min to 2 hours but not sure if its GP discretion.
What’s the lead time for 1:1’s? 15 min notice or immediate notice to join? I might have to take a cr-p so need to plan!
One of the pooled teams here. So far 60% of my current team got an ISP. The other 40% haven’t been scheduled or are out of office this week.
Got a surprise visitor during my Teams meeting. My boss in Orlando showed up in person the main Tampa bay area office. Nice working with you fine folks. 16 years now completed for early retirement at 58
@ap If you quit years ago. Why are you here? Entertainment?
@an I don't know much detail. They were working from home. ISPed and told to take the rest of the day off. Building access revoked.
The earlier report of being escorted out and told their personal items will be mailed to them seems about right.
@ag I voluntarily quit EJ years ago for a competitor and was escorted out by security. So that part definitely happens. Though it sounds like everyone's working from home, so doubt it'll be happening today.
@am tell us more
Can confirm, it has begun
@a8 - what area or floor are you on?
Escorted out by security .... I don't buy it
This thread was bound to turn into a sh-tshow. Especially with all the bigoted, intellectually lazy clowns hanging around today. Smh.
@a9 I catch the humor.
@a8 Was it a phone call to your home number or a zoom meeting? I’m curious about what devices I should be monitoring.
Based on my past experiences with other companies, they always give out the bad news first, and they never want people to go back to their desks because of potential disruption like tears, yelling, or even violence. I think I am safe (but only for cascade 2). Anyone else feeling nauseous this morning? :(
I know it’s a reference to the stock market crash, but can we not use terms like “Black Monday” to describe bad situations? It’s not inclusive language and is very damaging to underrepresented minorities.
Working at home today and I got a phone call that I was "safe". The only reason to call me, I guess, is to inform me that I am being impacted by changes around me (I will have more to do, as a result of those changes). Not aware of any other communications in my area.
