The biggest threat to VZ comes form the within - too many silos mentalities promoted and endorsed by lazy old timers tucked in their comfort zone and home offices

Option (A) based on Trump changing the Rural Broadband BEAD money that was originally earmarked for fiber only. Originally for areas to qualify for the BEAD funding they had to go with fiber because it was the gold standard. Now Trump opened it up to satellite and for the rural areas to qualify for the BEAD money they have to go with the cheapest build option which will be satellite(Starlink). Verizon bought Frontier based on the government money for building fiber in the rural areas and now that rural area build will be nixed for the second round of BEAD money. Not only did Verizon lose but the underserved areas will lose too with slower and unreliable broadband.
