Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum comes highly not recommended

When was the last time you told someone, “This is a great place to work, you should try to get in”? I honestly can’t remember the last time I heard anyone I work with say they like their job and consider themselves lucky to have landed here. All I hear is that they’re bothered, exhausted, stressed, unhappy, frustrated, or angry. Great vibes, top to bottom.

When I worked there I never told anyone where I worked. After the gangster stuff UHC pulled on Drs. offices after the CHC breach, I was ashamed of where I worked.

I'm so glad to be gone from that place. It's everything bad about corporate America. Keep looking, networking, and do whatever you can to get out of there before they offshore your job. Its not if, it's when.

Worst company, worst management ever! I’ve worked for several fortune 100 companies. Management doesn’t no anything and steals all your ideas! Then tells you that you aren’t performing and nobody likes you! If you like a back stabbing culture work here!

I think way back in the 2010s, 2009-2011? Back then they still hired technicians, then someone decided a warm body could work and they began offshoring. That was the beginning of the downturn but the end for me was all the weak-a-s woke DEI bull, when that started I checked out! Got 3 - 4yrs of half weeks, revenge is a dish best served cold!

When I came in 2015 things were great but a few years in I noticed things were slowly changing for the worst I was laid off after 10 years of service and I decided not to come back. Not only was I burned out I had no support from management. I went to HR with no luck I now have peace in my life

Last time was before Covid when we were under Dave Wichman. He was one of the better CEOs I worked for and helped us navigate out of COVID successfully. All this went to the pooch when self serving Witty-less took over. Nothing but breaches and mindless strategies getting rid of proven leaders. Now we have no accountability and leaders are arranging the deck furniture on the Titanic. We need new strong, thoughtful people serving leaders. For now this company is full of miserable people with repeat failed strategies. Nothing to see here folks, move on to better companies.

You got to love those employees that find what the consider a mistake on your part and than craft an email to you informing you of that perception, and the cc everyone in the corporation. It’s paper stupid. Can you imagine if leadership received emails for all the stupid things they do and you CC the board. Stop kissing a!!

Everyday. My coworkers, all of them onshore and off are considerate, compassionate and we collaborate well to achieve our goals timely. Otherwise I would leave if I did not have this.

Years ago, when I took my first job at Optum, everyone I knew here said it was super toxic. They were right, but those days look like a Care Bear convention compared to the hellscape we work in now. I have seen people do horrible things to one another because of the incentives this company has created through its leadership failures.
