Layoffs su-k and the insecurity is stressful, but I’ve mostly found Nike a great place to work. There’s weeks of high stress, but then there’s weeks you can sit back a little. Trick is taking advantage of those ebbs and flows. I’ve never had any thought that this wasn’t a giant corporation that has to do headcount reduction. Generally I’ve found it’s due to years of over expansion in the workforce, cheap money and a screaming business will do that. Now that we aren’t something has to be done to become more efficient. If more people were buying our shoes this wouldn’t be happening. Yes, there are fingers to point on why people aren’t buying our shoes. But this is where we are. I do have confidence EH is doing this a lot more strategically and in lower amounts than previous leaders and blanket blind layoffs informed by consultants with no knowledge of the company.

@OP Like Batman said of Joker "Expect the unexpected".

Wait did I just accuse EH of being psychotic, serial ki-ler? LOL

I hope he does not come after me with all the Nike resource and make my life miserable for speaking my mind LOL

@OP I can attest for last 45 years that Nike has never been a company that rewards good employments history, performance, loyalty with security and respect like Procter and Gamble, Exxon and even Berkshire Hathaway based on friends I know and talked to.
But Nike's disloyalty was masked because the company was growing so fast.

Now that company has hit plateau and needs head count reduction, it is showing its true color.

I doubted that the toxic environment will ever end.
As I said, above it was there but it was masked by Nike's incredible growth.
It is in Nike DNA is inherited from one Mr. PK.

Wise approach would be build your resume, industry connection, expertise in Nike and look for opportunity elsewhere that will pay you more and give you security.
Instead of trying to struggle to do your lifetime in Nike.
Trying to do your lifetime where it is not offered is not wise unless you are really few chosen one

Until you either resign, retire, or get laid off.

Plan for the worst case scenario and you'll never be surprised.

Things will happen in late August / early September. Nike will be back on top as always and EH will lead this ship around. Trust in EH always. :)
