Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Unforseen effects

What has occurred from the reorg that might be of surprise? In the ABU a manager has been shunted into a worthless global role and they are wasting no time burning bridges clashing with long time allies. This has surpised the allies not the rest of us. Anyone else gone rogue or has something from the reorg been made better?

None of the previous ABU layoffs felt like this. It is definitely darker and more bitter than previous, coupled with the rhetoric from the top (MW) and increasingly negative perceptions of the new leadership locally (credibility and sincerity deficit). We run multiple major hazard facilities here and this "vibe" is not the right foundation on which to be doing so. It's like driving tired or under the influence.

I suppose if our leaders were good at all at their jobs, the reorgs would not be a frequent occurrence? As for bullying, I'll defer to your expertise.

If you folks were half as good at your jobs as what you are slandering people on an anonymous forum, this BU would be in a lot better shape. Most of the info already posted is absed in fantasy, with a hefty dose of jealousy to go along with it.

Get a grip of yourselves and stop being toxic bullies.

@c8 IT and SCM are full of people without a degree at all, or at least not a degree in a related field.

I know of more than a few leaders in Data and Insights who survived the cull that don’t have degrees.

Right, quick one… who’s everyone bangin’ on about then? All this talk about “no degree this” and “dodgy morals that” — sounds a bit far-fetched to me. Surely folk aren’t daft enough to believe half of that?

Not that it matters, mind. Just curious who’s gettin’ dragged, ‘cause from where I’m sittin’, I don’t see anyone round here fit that description.

@OP Is this the same person that cheated on his ex-wife with her own friend — the very ex-wife who got him the job in the first place — and then somehow twisted it so he was the victim? The same one who betrays, lies, and rewrites the story so he looks like the wounded hero? Sounds about right

Are they calling you after you have been laid off? Or you in another employee role?
My god!

My internal customers still call me for help… it’s been two months since i stopped working there. They claim that no one is helping them and critical systems are failing. I’ve received calls from newly hired kids in India that found my contact information and are begging for help. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Meanwhile, I’m high all day, so it’s all good, man.
