Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Completely over it

I stopped stressing about this job months ago. Losing it wouldn’t break me because I know my skills are in demand even in this job market. Honestly, if they want to let me go, that could end up being the best thing for me. I am already thinking about other opportunities where my work is actually valued.

there are folks who are drunk on the kool-aid that they can't get over not working in CVX.

they should wake up to the truth that nobody is indispensable and CVX is not the only company in the world

@ae sure I'm backstabbing people and they're onto me now but it's saving me money as it's less over for dinner. Shame I've never saved the business any money but I have money and it's all about me, after all.

I was in a similar position, and no longer at the company. I’ve never felt better. The thought of staying was far worse than the though of leaving.

I can relate. Sometimes I just don’t understand people. I’ve done so much for this company and the people in it — given promotions, created “opportunities,” carried entire teams — and yet all I get in return is gossip and criticism. Nobody seems grateful anymore.

And yes, I don’t have a university degree, I don’t have the fancy qualifications others brag about — but look at me, I still climbed higher than most of them. Isn’t that proof enough that I’m special? People forget the “sacrifices” I made, the risks I took — even when I had to leave my ex-wife behind and build a new life with her friend. That’s just life, isn’t it?

Instead of respect, I’m called a fraud, a liar, a backstabber. Maybe it’s easier for some to drag me down than admit they’d never have made it this far without me pulling the strings.
