Had anybody heard anything about techs going to a core week schedule. Rumors kicking around that all techs are going to 5 8 hour days so that Intel doesn’t have to pay out overtime.

The real schedule change is from BB to GB contractor.
its coming..
Heard IT was going to restrict most social media and most other sites including Google so get back to work fu----s
You can tell who has an easy carpet-walker job where they’ve never worked in a 24/7 manufacturing facility because they think that we can just idle tools all night and every weekend and only run for 8 hours a day on weekdays. Even if we weren’t trying to court external customers, you would absolutely destroy predictable cycle times and queue times and make it so even internal customers wouldn’t be able to depend on our fabs. You think other big foundries are only operating 40 hours a week? With that schedule there are processes that would take an entire week to run one full lot.
FIVE days a week for EIGHT hours is FULL TIME.
If you are working less than that, at ANY office company and NOT on site, using apps or mouse movers while "working" from home to appear busy while shopping, you should be paid for PART-TIME.
It is an incremental step towards outsourcing a good deal of the fab techs.
CWW is stupid.
CWW days, idle tools out for nightshifts with ERT completing fire walks would make more sense.
Yeah those overnight MTs making an extra 20% while they ignore checklists and Who’s and have no PROD to run are super critical
This board seems to be run by techs paid 9.99 an hour. We should set up a a separate board for the hourly workers. What a stupid question.
50% techs in fab gong to be working at Walmart or some random factory in 1 year. Guaranteed based on the intelligence seen here.
Engineers will be contacted to provide coverage during the evenings and weekends after the technicians go home.
So idle the fab over weekends?
Back in the before times we had 3 shifts, day, swing, grave that did 5 8hr shifts, and the fab would idle Fri evening till Sun evening. Is that what you're saying?
Honestly this would be a brilliant move. In Oregon there are a significant amount of people who commute from other states, some of them rent places locally that are basically Intel flop houses. Between the RTO and going to 5 8 hour shifts, it would really sc--w those people over. I saw some of those folks take super long medical leaves of absence when wfh was cancelled in certain areas and it was annoying. Really this would be a brilliant way to not pay over time and get rid of those folks at the same time.
Happening in F24 & F34 in October
Haha. Management won’t be able to meet any schedules of that happens.
0% chance.
I see some signs of this at least for IT technicians. Could be true
