Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

No Trust

Associates no longer trust leadership because of their random layoffs. Hopefully those who are still there will remember the dynamics when the next associate satisfaction survey comes out. The typical cycle happens in that the Site Leader will bring in a modest lunch to give the impression of associate appreciation before they drag everyone thru the dirt for the following 11 months. For those who stay long enough to feel like you're being loyal, consider all of the holiday seasons you miss out on before they lay you off

The only one that gets dinged on the survey is your immediate manager. Nobody in the c-suite cares.

There is no trust in the modern corporate setting. There is no “work family”. You don’t fire family as when you please. There should be no expectation of loyalty in any direction. Do your best at your job but do not expect anything more than bare minimum. You just feel good about yourself. If you don’t want to work hard then do the minimum if you wish. In either case your pay will be the same. If they promote you too much too fast they will get rid of you just as fast when times demand. Concentrate on your family, health and friends. Don’t expect anything from any employer

No longer trust? Why would anyone have ever trusted them in the first place? Even if you do your job, the bottom line remains paramount. They will get rid of all of us and sell their souls to Satan to save a penny. Always remember that, and always be prepared.

Top level leadership really don't care about the employee satisfaction survey. I have been in a Director position for many years and the scores and candid comments are quickly dismissed. Business Units might be required to make an action plan but it never really happens.
