Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Did anybody manage to negotiate their severance?

Can it be done? Is it worth trying?

@cd in my org (can’t speak for all), employees were let go but are kept in the system as active without access, so that they can at least get a portion of the RSUs that vest in Sept. Anything after that goes back into the pool unfortunately.

@cg I don't know. I'm sure that O has an army of lawyers ready to fight any discrimination suit. Winning could be next to impossible,

Depends on your situation. If you have half a case for discrimination or wrongful termination, they may willing to sweeten the pot a little rather than deal with another legal action (plenty out there already).

Stocks/RSU you can negotiate. If you are a Director or above and managing P&L, you also deserve extra pay.

Considering that employers in the US are not legally required to provide any severance, consider yourself fortunate that you did get some.

And as b0 mentioned, what leverage do you have? You been laid off (don't forget to apply for unemployment).
