I'm just saying, we shouldn't have to rely strictly on an anonymous forum to learn more about ongoing layoffs.

@mv Those managers know that they will be terminated if they spill the beans.
I've talked to M3, M4 and M5s in EMEA that have no idea what's going on or if/when something will happen.
It's all really being pushed from above with very very little info, it's crazy
@g0 I've heard of companies preannouncing layoffs and even saying how many positions will be eliminated. Though those announcements are only made for mass layoffs. Small piecemeal layoffs are usually unannounced, from what I have seen.
LE and his lieutenants look at Oracle employees like peons and feel they don’t owe them anything : it’s a big mistake to think employees are valued at Oracle
@b1 Companies in general are very quite about any onset of layoffs. You mention Microsoft, but a recent layoff in their Gaming division only became public when people started saying there were being laid off. If it's early, it's only because of leaks to the press. I have never heard of a layoff in any company I've worked for before the time it happened, except for "rumors".
Correct, complete silence, you only know when mail bounces.
Boss lets you know if he isn't compete di-k. Which he is.
@bn it’s because Oracle hasn’t made a public announcement yet. Likely because they’re not finished. They also have released their FY results (we’re in a quiet period). It’s all strategic.
I mean I just googled "Oracle the layoff" and 4 stories popped. Our liberal mass media in the states focuses 95% of their stories on govt "failing" and Trump. Other 5% are about cats with lazer beam eyes.
Did you notice, even media is not scattering Oracle layoff news. Microsoft layoff has hit the front page but Oracle never did.
Oracle leadership does not care about human beings. I was there from 2007-2021. They do not care about humans. They only care about $$$.
Other companies--Meta, Microsoft, etc--at least announced they are doing layoffs. Oracle is complete radio silence. This is being handled really poorly.
People still on the inside say their peers and manager have been let go over a week ago and no one has told them yet what happened, who they are working for, or what they will be doing. Leaving them to wonder if they might get swept up in the September round that’s coming.
