I heard hscs opened a big Houston office but I see most job postings are for Chicago/Richardson. How flexible is the company in allowing you to work in a different office?

@x1 yep came here to say the same thing. They’re moving us all to the new Houston building.
@OP Houston person here. We are being consolidated to one location.
About as flexible as steel.
We’re one of the most flexible companies, maybe ever.
If a job posting doesn't include the office you report to and you aren't willing to report to the office that is in the posting (Chicago/Richardson), it doesn't matter how qualified you are for the job. Unless you can get the hiring manager to request your office be included you won't be considered.
There are two offices in Houston. The new one is supposed to be for sales, marketing brokers, etc. The company purchased the new building. The old one is a mix use but they don’t own the building, they lease several floors within the building. They expanded their lease in that building just as the new office was opening. The old building was mostly full, they had people on a waitlist when they expanded their lease. All this to say, it’s not just about you wanting to move- there are specific uses and usually not room unless you’re filling a role in the location and that’s even if there are people in you’re dept there.
To add, the company just updated their relocation info. And it specifically says that personal request is not an acceptable reason to move. Prior to that, it was he-l trying to move people and most job postings are only allowing corporate office locations because the satellite offices are full. Houston offices are satellite.
I’d say it’s out of the question unless you apply for a job that includes Houston and excludes your current location.
